Hello to
everyone!
Like
Anneleen already said, we are now visiting Slowakia! We are very lucky that we
are here in March cause now is the month with the driest weather. No raincoats
needed, hooray!
Today we
visited The Slovak National Museum in Bratislava, this is probably the
country’s most known museum. The museum has 2.4 million objects in its
collection, which makes it one of the most important museums of natural science
in Europe. The museum
manages 16 specialised museums, so it’s not one big museum, but it consist out
of all small departments. When we heard about the large collection, we thought that it would be
too expensive to visit, but we only had to pay € 2,00 because we are students.
For € 2,00 we had access to all the departments of the museum. So, we were very
surprised by its cheapness.
Bratislava
is a beautiful city with a lot of different aspects. It has an historical
center that’s full of old, picturesque buildings. Its picturesqueness reminded Melisa
of our city Bruges. In the link under my blogpost, you can find some images of
the historical center. In downtown Bratislava you can find skyscrapers and
other colorful buildings, we also saw a building that was typical for the
communist period of Slowakia.
Lokse |
After
visiting the museum and city, we’ve went to a typical restaurant to have a
quick bite. Anneleen and Julie took goulash soup, Roselinde and Anou had a
Lokse (a potato pancake) and Melisa and I took Granadir (pasta with potato). We
all enjoyed our meals and we really would comment them to you all!
We were
tired after all that traveling, so we went back to the hotel. The
second day we visited the castle of Bratislava, it provided us an excellent
view of the city. A view that blew our minds. We’re really wondering if there
will be something that surprises us more during our trip, than this view! Well
my time is up, talk to you later!
With love
Romina
