This week
was awesome! There are so many things to visit and so many different things to
see in Poland! As Melisa said, we spent our first days in Warsaw (capital and
the largest city of Poland) visiting some museums, such as the Polish Army museum
and the ethnographic museum. We also went to some churches and monasteries because
our guide at the museum told us it was worth visiting it. And yes it was!
One of the evenings
we went out in Warsaw, we found out that vodka is the most important drink, but
they also produce a lot of different beers, very nice for beer consumers and
those who don’t like vodka. I red in Melisa’s travel guide that Poland is the
third largest producer of beer in Europe!
While
travelling from North to South we visited also Krakow. This city is one of the
eldest cities in Poland and the second largest. Winter or summer, it doesn’t
matter, tourists are everywhere! Krakow is one of the UNESCO’s heritages and is
also the city of Pope John Paul II which attracts a lot of pilgrims. Other attractions
we did were Barbakan; a military defense wall which surrounds the city, the medieval
city center, the 14th century Gothic Basilica of Virgin Mary and the
13th century Gothic Town Hall Tower.
It is in
Krakow that you can find Auschwitz. Auschwitz is one of the extermination camps
where Jewish people were sent to in WWII. We visited this complex but I felt a
little bit uncomfortable because there was a strange atmosphere.
Anyway it
was a very nice week in Poland, very beautiful and we even didn’t see nor did
everything!
Keep
following us!
